chp…? jewelry in Basilica Palladiana, Vicenza (It)
After many years of preparation, the Museo del Gioiello in Vicenza (Italy) finally opened its doors in December 2014. The beautiful Basilica Palladiana in the heart of Vicenza, designed and constructed in the 15th century by the famous Italian architect Andrea Palladio, serves as decor for this new museum devoted to the history of jewelry.
The museum opened with nine exhibitions that explore different themes such as Symbol, Function, Beauty, Art, and Future. A special exhibition dedicated on Design was curated by Gijs Bakker and explores the influence of design on contemporary jewelry. The exhibition includes works by internationally renowned designers such as Françoise van den Bosch and Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe and over fifteen designs from the chp…? collections are incorporated, such as the Otto millimetri by Otto Künzli, Little Mat by Dinie Besems, Forever Yours by Ineke Hans and Bone Structures by Campana brothers.
The opening exhibitions will be on view for two years and will run until December 2016.
